School student from Perm to win the International competition “Ecology without borders”.

Nikita Kondakov from School No. 132 became an absolute winner among 70 participants from Russia and Belarus,  and won  the gold medal in thematic session   «Soil sciences».

The 8th International forum “ Ecology without borders” was held in   Prioksko-Terrasny nature reserve (Moscow Region)   bringing together   participants aged 14-17, the winners  of the federal and republican competitions.  The location was organised in a variety of  ecological systems and the participants engaged in a theoretical stage, field research and its presentation  followed by the interview.  The competition included 5 thematicс sections:  botanics, ornithology, insectology, hydrobiology, soil science. 

Nikita Kondakov from School No. 132, supported by his scientific adviser, Valentina Burakova, Biology teacher, produced  a research into the nature reserve soils showing a high-level of knowledge in all the competition thematic areas.  According to his  teacher, the senior school student has a deep knowledge not only of biology and ecology, but also  chemistry, which helped him in research of soils; it was the first time in this forum that the  absolute winner of the Forum represented the” Soil Science” section.  

Above all, Nikita has a number of other high-standard awards, including “The Pride of the Perm Region”, Perm Governor Award,  he is enrolled onto “The Golden Reserve”. In 2022 the senior school  student became a prize winner of “The Motherland” All-Russian competition on regional history research.
